Halloween In San Francisco

Halloween is an annual holiday in the United States that is observed on October 31. It commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, and telling scary stories.
Halloween celebration held in The Castro district of San Francisco began in the 1940s as a neighborhood costume contest. By the late 1970s, it had shifted from a children's event to a gay celebration that continued to grow into a massive annual street party that sometimes involves hundreds of thousands of people.
