Caption: Jim Grindle, a close friend of late actor James Dean, stands in front of the Fairmount Historical Museum in Fairmont, Indiana, on April 10, 2005. The museum was founded in 1975 and its exhibits showcase authentic artifacts of hometown film star James Dean. From his childhood in Fairmount to his death, Dean's life can be traced through hundreds of rare photographs, his motorcycles, movie costumes, and countless keepsakes donated to the museum by his own family and close friends. September 30, 2005 will mark the 50th anniversary of James Dean's tragic death in 1955.
